FORMER soldier Richard Nikolic has been appointed as sales director for Environmental Defence Systems Ltd.
The 47-year-old former Royal Engineer - seen here taking part in the Blenheim triathlon in the grounds of Blenheim Palace at Woodstock in Oxfordshire - has been in senior management positions with several businesses over the last 20 years including logistics, engineering, car retail operations and manufacturing.
Living in central England, Richard will be ideally placed to support the EDS customer base with training, sales support and helping EDS partners with demonstrations.
“The really exciting thing about FloodSax® is the fact they are unique, made in the UK and have multi applications,’’ said Richard. “In simple terms, if you have a liquid somewhere you don’t want, a FloodSax® will stop it, move it or get rid of it.”
Married with two children, Richard loves the outdoors and competes in triathlons, cycling and other endurance events.
“I’ve travelled all over the world both with the army and on business,’’ he said. “I’m delighted to have joined EDS Ltd as the FloodSax® is a truly international product and we now have overseas agents from Australia to America and from Norway to the Caribbean and Singapore.
“It’s an exciting time for the company as the product becomes increasingly well-known and people see for themselves that FloodSax® are so much more flexible and effective than traditional sandbags.
“FloodSax® have so many applications in civil and military applications. Just recently they were being deployed to stop houses getting flooded in Perth in Australian and being used by Nato for detonator preparation.
“I only wish we’d had FloodSax® when I was in the army as it would have made life so much easier!’’
