OUR pioneering ‘sandless sandbag' is all set for the frontline against terrorism and will be on show to the world at Counter Terror Expo.
The prestigious event will be held at Olympia in London on April 25 and 26 and we'll be at Stand C27.
It brings together counter terrorism experts from the Government, armed forces, security services and law enforcement worldwide to share real-life experience, debate strategies, brainstorm issues, shape policy and define effective counter-measures.
It is supported by a showcase exhibition revealing the very latest technology and techniques available to professionals who are doing their best to keep the public safe in a world increasingly at risk from terrorism on an international scale
The BlastSax® has undergone trials showing its effectiveness at stopping bullets or mitigating explosions. They are an effective blast and fragmentation protection barrier which also helps to preserve forensic evidence.
They have undergone extensive trials with the British MoD and have proved to be effective against small explosive devices.
One person can carry 40 BlastSax® at one time in dry state - equal to 800kgs sandbag weight - and they can be used with aqueous decontaminants to neutralise CBRN threats. They are ideal for conventional demolition, minefield clearance and personnel protection when preparing detonators.
They have also proved to be effective against weapons including the Glock 19 Hollow Point, AK47 Hollow Point, AK47 Ball, Bushmaster M4 5.56 Steel Core, Russian 91/30 Nagant Sniper rifle 7.62 x 54R Czech Heavy Ball and BL755 with 4oz PE charge.
The Royal Navy has tested BlastSax® and its report concludes: 'The use of BlastSax® to provide protection to EOD personnel while preparing detonators proved to be very effective. Noise was significantly reduced and all component parts of the detonators were contained within the BlastSax®.
'Should a detonator sandwiched between BlastSax® accidently function while being prepared, the risk of injury would be substantially reduced.
'BlastSax® may have multirole effectiveness and application in diverse roles such as damage control, boundary cooling and flood prevention.''
